How to Merge PDF Files in Your Browser Without Uploading Them
A practical, privacy-aware workflow for arranging and combining PDF files locally in a browser, then checking the merged document before sharing it.
Open the Merge PDF tool All PDF guidesPrepare the source files
Open each source PDF and confirm that it is the latest version. Rename files in a way that makes their intended order obvious, especially when a packet combines a cover page, forms, receipts, and supporting documents.
Password-protected files may need to be unlocked with the known password before they can be combined. Do not remove protection from documents you are not authorized to edit.
Arrange and merge locally
PDF ViewNow reads the files selected from your device in the browser workflow. Add the PDFs, place them in the required order, and create one output document. Local browser processing avoids sending routine document contents to a PDF ViewNow application server.
Keep the original files until the output has been checked. A merged PDF is a new document, so replacing the sources immediately can make it harder to correct a missing page or ordering mistake.
Verify the result before sharing
Open the downloaded PDF and inspect the first page, last page, and every transition between source files. Check page count, orientation, blank pages, bookmarks or links that matter, and whether forms or signatures still behave as expected.
If the file will be emailed or uploaded to a portal, also confirm its size and filename. Compression can be a separate step, but compare visual quality after compression before discarding the uncompressed merged copy.
Frequently asked questions
Does merging PDFs change the original files?
No. The browser creates a new output file. Keep the originals until you have verified the merged document.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
The file may need to be unlocked with its known password first. Only modify documents you are authorized to use.
